
The Digital Folk project is pleased to welcome Dr Lucy Wright in her new role as Research Associate.
Lucy completed her PhD in 2014, exploring contemporary folk performance and place-making in the Northwest of England. In particular, she is interested in the performance legacies of the ‘town carnival movement’ in the North of England, and works regularly with troupe dancers and members of the girls’ (carnival) morris dancing community. In her spare time, she undertakes occasional residencies as a dialogical artist, while as a singer and musician, her latest album, ‘Red Diesel’ with BBC Folk Award-nominated English folk act, Pilgrims’ Way, was rated 5 stars in the Telegraph.
After a brief hiatus, we look forward to re-booting the Digital Folk project this Spring. Watch this space for more details!
